Hamonado ng Rizal

Ingredients
  

Marinate:

  • 1 kg. Premium Choice Pork Menudo Cut
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 pcs. laurel leaf

Sauté:

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pc. onion, minced
  • Marinated pork

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 5 pcs. hotdog
  • 3 cups pineapple juice
  • 4 Tbsps. sugar
  • 1 pc. red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup pickled relish
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. fish sauce
  • Season with black pepper
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the Premium Choice Pork Menudo Cut with soy sauce and laurel leaves. It is best to do this 15 minutes ahead, or even overnight.
  • In a pan, heat the oil. Sauté the garlic and onion until it becomes aromatic.
  • Once the garlic and onions are ready, add the marinated Premium Choice Pork Menudo Cut into the pan. Toss it all together.
  • When the pork has cooked for a bit, add the vinegar and mix.
  • Once the pork has gained some color, add the soy sauce. Mix. Cover and leave it to simmer.
  • Slice the hotdogs diagonally.
  • When the pork begins to simmer, add the pineapple juice, sugar, and pickle relish.
  • Pound the stale bread to make breadcrumbs. Add it to the pan. Mix well.
  • Add the hotdogs. Season with patis. Mix.
  • Remove the top and the seeds of the red bell pepper. Slice it into cubes. Add them to the pot. Season with black pepper. Make sure to taste it and season it according to your preference.
  • Add the pineapple. Mix. Leave it to cook for 1 - 2 minutes.

Whether you pair it with rice or use plain puto to soak up all the flavors of the sauce, this dish will still be delicious enough to make you cook it once more. Cook it for a special occasion, or as a simple dish to brighten an everyday mealtime, the delight it brings will not disappoint you.
