Not only is it cheap, but it can also be transformed into the most delicious meals with the right ingredients. It can be paired with rice or bread and can even be placed in soup. There are many ways to make sardines even more delectable, all you need is creativity.

With the rough texture of the sardines because of the tiny bones, along with the strong flavors dependent on whether it is oil-based or tomato-based, it is a unique accompaniment to a dish. Whether you add aromatics to the sardines or mix them with some other ingredients, it will become a palatable meal that will fill you up.

Egg Omelette Sardines

Egg Omelette Sardines

Ingredients
  

  • Oil, for sautéing
  • 3 pcs. egg
  • 1 pack Maggi Magic Sarap
  • Season with salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pc. onion, minced
  • 1 pc. fresh tomato, diced
  • 2 pcs. canned sardines
  • 1 stalk onion leek, chopped
  • Season with salt and pepper

Garnish:

  • Onion leeks

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, heat the oil. Sauté the garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Add the sardines. Season with Maggi Magic Sarap and pepper.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs. Once the sardines are cooked, add it into the bowl. Add the onion leeks. Mix well.
  • Using the same pan, heat the oil. Pour the egg mixture into the pan. Mix it slowly to let the egg curdle and become creamy.
  • Once cooked, serve it on a plate. Garnish with onion leeks.

Sardines with Misua

Ingredients
  

  • Oil, for sautéing
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pc. onion, minced
  • 2 pcs. fresh tomato
  • 1 canned sardines
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 Tbsp. Maggi Magic Sarap
  • 1/2 Tbsp. fish sauce
  • Season with black pepper
  • Onion leeks (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, heat the oil. Sauté the garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Cook until it becomes aromatic and tender. Add the sardines. Mix it all together and leave it to simmer.
  • Add the water. Season with Maggi Magic Sarap. Season with pepper and patis. Once the soup starts boiling, add the misua.

Using affordable and accessible ingredients, you can fill the entire dining table with mouthwatering dishes that will feed you and your entire family. There is no need to stick with the simplest of sardines and rice when you can improve the ordinary sardines that can be bought in most shops with similarly simple ingredients.
