We’ve spent most of this year in our homes, doing our share to slow down the spread of COVID by following quarantine policies. At first, going about our daily lives while on lockdown was a challenge, but as months flew by, more and more people stepped up to address one of the biggest challenges today: shopping for groceries.

Thanks to entrepreneurs and developers, we now have more options when it comes to online shopping and the convenience and protection that it brings. Here are some of our favorite online stores and apps where you can easily shop for your daily needs.

COOP GROCER

Coop Grocer is an app-based online grocery that collates produce and products from various stores and manufacturers, so customers have access to more goods in one shopping cart. Aside from their next-day delivery service, the best part about Coop Grocer is their dedication to supporting local farmers, where most of their fresh items (fruits, vegetables, and even meats) are sourced. They also offer imported goods, if you miss Korean and European goods. Their customer service is also impeccable – professional yet thoughtful, which is great especially nowadays when customers are more stressed due to the pandemic.

You can download the Coop Grocer app for iOS and Android.

METROMART

If you’re looking for same-day delivery from your favorite supermarket, school supply store, or drugstore, check out MetroMart. Depending on the availability of delivery slots, you can have your groceries delivered as early as three hours after placing your order. It’s just like your regular supermarket at your fingertips. This is perfect if you suddenly run out of ingredients or supplies and cannot leave the home.

Do take note that despite having multiple stores in the website or app, MetroMart will allow you to check out from several stores but it entails separate delivery and shopper fees.

You can download the MetroMart app for iOS and Android.

PICKAROO

This “unicorn” is perhaps one of the newest additions to the online shopping scene in Metro Manila. Mostly catering to restaurant deliveries (mall staples like Tim Ho Wan, Manam, and specialty food courts like The Grid Food Market and Off-Grid), the Pickaroo app also has some specialty stores and membership mega market S&R. They have their own riders to ensure your orders are handled and delivered safely. They also have convenient payment options (like GCash QR Scan).

You can download the Pickaroo app for iOS and Android.

LANDERS

Landers is one of the biggest supermarkets in the metro and they have been offering grocery deliveries even before COVID happened. But when the lockdown started, they got overwhelmed with the delivery orders. After a few weeks, they were finally able to cope and even launched their very own app to make grocery shopping easier. If you usually buy things in bulk, Landers is a great option. One of the best perks about being a Landers member is the huge gas discount, so make sure you remember that on your next order. Same-day delivery is also available depending on the availability of their partner couriers.

You can visit their website to order or download the Landers app for iOS and Android.
