This easy and very versatile recipe that’s perfect to prepare during get-togethers. Best served with soft tortilla, bread  or even with rice. Watch the video below for the whole recipe.

Serves 6 to 7.

INGREDIENTS:

Set A:

  • ½ kilogram ground beef
  • 2 pieces chorizo de Bilbao, diced

Set B:

  • 1 head garlic, minced
  • 1 piece large onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Spanish paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 500 gram tomato sauce
  • 2-4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Set C:

  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 cans cooked red kidney beans
  • 2 tablespoons chili flakes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Tips:

  • You can make this in advance. Flavors only develop as days go by. You can freeze this, too. Have some in store when you crave for nachos or a chili dog. It is good with steamed rice as well.  
  • You can serve with freshly chopped cilantro and sour cream. 
  • You can even dilute this a bit with some beef stock to make a quick chili soup and serve with bread or flour tortillas.
  • For variation, you can add canned sweet corn kernels after adding the beans.
