This sweet and salty Chinese pork dish is best served with noodles or rice. The five-spice powder gives this dish its distinct delicious flavor! Make sure to try this!

INGREDIENTS:

Set A:

  • 1 kilogram pork shoulder, cut into logs of 3-inch diameter   
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 4 tablespoons banana catsup
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

Set B

  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

 Chef Tatung’s Tips:

  • Feel free to swap the ribs with a meatier cut such as pork belly, shanks or Boston butt.
