Decadent Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
Sour Cream:
- 1 cup milk
- 1 pack Nestle All-Purpose Cream
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsps. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 2 cups brown sugar
- ½ cup oil
- 2 pcs. medium egg
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsps. instant coffee powder (dissolved in hot water)
For the Aluminum Pan:
- Oil, for greasing
Chocolate Ganahce:
- 250 g. copmpound chocolate
- 1 can condensed milk (380 g.)
- 2 packs Nestle All-Purpose Cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup butter
For the Baking:
- Bake at 150 °C
- 30 to 35 mins. if divided to 2 pans
- 50 to 55 mins if baked in 1 pan
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine milk and all-purpose cream. Add vinegar and mix.
- In another bowl, add the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Make sure to sift it three times to ensure it is well-combined.
- In a different bowl, add the brown sugar and oil. With another bowl, crack in the eggs, then add the vanilla extract and instant coffee powder dissolved in powder. Beat. Slowly whisk in the egg mixture with the sugar-oil mix.
- Preheat the oven to 160 °C.
- Pour the dry ingredients and the sour cream alternatively into the wet ingredients. Mix well.
- Prepare the aluminum pans. Brush it with oil, then pour in the batter. Place it in the oven. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Once the cooking time has ended, check its doneness by poking a toothpick into the cake. When the toothpick is clean, that means it has cooked well. Remove the aluiminum pans from the oven and let it cool.
- Melt the compound chocolate over a double boiler. Add the condensed milk, all-purpose cream, vanilla extract, salt, and butter. Mix well.
- When all ingredients for the chocolate ganache have fully incorporated with each other, let it chill for a bit before spreading it over the cakes. Cover the aluminum pans and leave it in the chiller until you’re ready to serve it.
