Serves 5 to 6.
For the Empanada:
INGREDIENTS:
Set A:
- 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoon fine salt
Set B:
- 4 tablespoons Golden Fiesta Canola Oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Set C:
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water

- If the dough becomes too soft to handle, chill briefly until it firms up again.
For the Picadillo:
INGREDIENTS:
Set A:
- 350 grams ground pork
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 piece onion, minced
- 1 piece tomato, diced
- 350 grams ground pork (1 1/3 cups)
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce (optional)
Set B (optional, you can use any combination of your preference):
- 1 piece potato, diced
- 1 piece carrot, diced
- 1 piece red bell pepper, diced
- 3/4 cup green peas
- 1/2 cup raisins
