INGREDIENTS:
Set A:
5 cups bread flour
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 Tbsp. instant yeast
2 tsps. salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Set B:
2 1/4 cups water
1 whole egg, beaten
4 Tbsps. shortening
Set C:
1 cup breadcrumbs,
powdered
PROCEDURE:
A. In a mixer with the hook attachment, combine Set A ingredients. Switch on mixer to low.
B. Beat egg and combine with water and slowly drizzle into flour mixture until dough is moistened. Let it rest for 10 minutes then add shortening. Mix or knead until dough is smooth and developed. Shape dough into a ball and cover dough with a damp cloth. Allow to rise for 1 hour or until double in size.
C. Roll out dough into a log, and cut into small pieces of the same size. Roll in breadcrumbs then arrange on baking sheet. Let it rise for 30 minutes before baking. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the crust is light golden brown.
