Picadillo originated in Latin Countries. It came from the spanish word “picar” which means “to mince”. As you can see, all the ingredients of Picadillo was minced. Here in the Philippines, Picadillo is one of the recipes that we usually prepare for special occasions like Noche Buena and Media Noche.

INGREDIENTS:

Set A:

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium onion minced
  • 1 cup fresh tomatoes
  • 1/2 kilo ground beef
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

Set B:

  • 2 medium carrots cubed
  • 1 medium potato cubed
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • pepper
  • ¾ cup frozen green peas
