Luñiz is a traditional and popular pork recipe from Batanes. Because the province is frequently visited by typhoons and refrigerators are not common in their households, they created recipes that also helped in preserving their meats. This recipe is very much like the Bagnet and Adobo of Batanes.
INGREDIENTS:
For Luñiz
Set A:
- 1 kilo pork belly
- salt
Set B:
- 1 cup water
- 2 thumbs luyang dilaw
- 6 cloves garlic
For Ivatan Rice:
- 2 cups washed rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon luyang dilaw
