Urban legend claims that the Gising-gising literally means “wake up-wake up”. It was concocted by a cook who had to feed some drunks after a drinking spree to sober them up before heading home. Perhaps we will never know. But one thing’s for sure, this dish isn’t for the faint of heart
Ingredients:
Set A:
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 medium onion
- 1 1/2 tablespoons bagoong
- ¼ kilo ground pork
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
Set B:
- 1 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 2 cups green beans,
- 3 pieces chili pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 pieces chili (optional)
