We all love to grow, harvest, and cook our own vegetables. And with our creativity, we were avail to create dishes using the vegetables from our own garden. Just like this very healthy and delicious recipe from Visayas.

DISH YOU KNOW?

Utan Bisaya is a traditional vegetable recipe from Visayas. It has vegetables that are usually available since Visayans have their own mini-farm in their backyards. It is also their way to recreate leftover fish. Usually, it is served during Semana Santa or Holy Week and is very similar to Bulanglang of Tagalogs.

INGREDIENTS:

Set A:

  • 4 pcs galunggong
  • salt

 Set B:

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 whole onion
  • 2 thumbs ginger
  • 2 pieces tomatoes
  • 1 stem tanglad

 

Set C:

  • 1 1/2 cup squash
  • 1 medium eggplant
  • 1 cup string beans
  • 3 pieces okra

Set D:

  • 2 long green chilies
  • Fish Sauce
  • 1 cup malunggay leaves
